Crossrail (Plumstead) : Completed Projects

Woodlands have been awarded the contract for the temporary site services at the Crossrail Plumstead rail head and the works for the Thames Tunnel by the joint venture ATC (Alstom, TSO, Costain)

Using speciallly designed transformers and low enegy LED lighting the Woodlands team presented the scheme to the ATC Mechanical & Electrical team and the new tunnel will be lit by end of August 2015.

Woodlands CEO Jacqueline Woodlands said " We are delighted to be involved with the Crossrail project, which during the construction we will be celebrating Woodlands 25th anniversary"

To deliver Crossrail services to Abbey Wood, a new tunnel will be built underneath the River Thames between Plumstead and North Woolwich – the Thames Tunnel.

The Thames Tunnel will be 2.6km long and about 15m below the existing river bed. The tunnel will be the only point where the Crossrail route crosses the River Thames.
